Switzerland’s largest rock festival has sold out of “Wildcard” tickets for 2026 in record time following the conclusion of this year’s event.
Greenfield Festival attracted more than 25,000 fans per day to the resort town of Interlaken for a bill headed by Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Electric Callboy and the Sex Pistols ft. Frank Carter.
Other acts included Powerwolf, In Flames, Alligatoah, Spiritbox, Flogging Molly and Motionless in White.
ACT Entertainment chief Thomas Dürr tells IQ he was “very pleased” with the response to the 12-14 June gathering, which “unfolded peacefully with unforgettable energy”.
“Greenfield got the 2025 festival season off to a successful start in Switzerland”
“Greenfield got the 2025 festival season off to a successful start in Switzerland, in the best weather,” he says.
Next year’s event will take place from 11-13 June. Early bird tickets have now gone on sale priced from CHF 220 (€234) after Wildcard tickets – which offer a three-day pass at a reduced rate – were rapidly snapped up.
The Greenfield Festival Foundation has also launched Rockfond (Rock fund), aimed at emerging bands, offering financial support of up to CHF 20,000 (€21,289) per project.
Greenfield’s success builds upon an already strong summer for the European rock and metal festival scene. The UK’s Download Festival 2025 welcomed over 75,000 fans to Donington over the weekend, with Green Day, Sleep Token and Korn all headlining for the first time, while the 30th anniversary edition of Czechia’s Rock for People drew over 50,000 visitors for performances from the likes of Linkin Park, Slipknot, Sex Pistols ft. Frank Carter and Avenged Sevenfold.
CTS Eventim-backed ACT’s boutique Waterfront Festival is also set to return for a second year from 11-12 July at Zurich Convention Center, headlined by The Boomtown Rats and Giovanni Zarrella.

Switzerland’s Greenfield Festival has already sold out its first batch of early bird tickets for next year’s event following a successful 2024 edition.
Just over 84,000 visitors – in line with last year’s record attendance – flocked to the rock and metal gathering to see headliners Green Day, Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy in Interlaken, Bern, from 13-15 June.
The supporting bill featured acts such as Sum 41, Machine Head, Babymetal, Dropkick Murphys, Kraftklub and The Interrupters, with other attractions including the 30,000-cap event’s annual medieval market.
Organiser Act Entertainment says that moderate temperatures led to fewer police and paramedic call-outs than in previous years.
“The stable visitor numbers and the slight increase this year demonstrate the clear and successful positioning of the festival”

Swiss promoter Act Entertainment is launching a new boutique music festival in Zurich this summer.
The Waterfront Festival will debut at the Kongresshaus Zurich from 11-20 July, when performers will include Stephan Eicher, Katie Melua. The Boss Hoss and the Gipsy Kings.
“The city of Zurich in summer, with its unrivalled ambience and international flair, is predestined for a great music festival. And I can’t think of a better place for it than the Kongresshaus with the lake literally on its doorstep,” says Act Entertainment CEO Thomas Dürr. “At the Kongresshaus, we have exactly the right platform for a boutique festival, which is becoming increasingly popular with music lovers.”
The event became a reality after Dürr approached new Kongresshaus CEO Michel Loris-Melikoff with his idea of a festival on the Lake Zurich waterfront, after which it is named.
“We have all the prerequisites for a cool festival with 1,500 visitors”
“When Thomas Dürr came to me and said he wanted to organise a new festival in July, preferably at our venue, I didn’t have to think twice,” says Loris-Melikoff. “Music is close to my heart anyway, and in the Kongresshaus we have all the prerequisites for a cool festival with 1,500 visitors.”
Day tickets start at CHF67.20 (€69.80), with further acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
Other events organised in Switzerland by CTS Eventim-backed ACT include Interlaken’s the Greenfield Festival, which will be headlined by Green Day, Bring Me the Horizon and The Prodigy between 13-15 June.
