Paléo Festival scores green energy first for Switzerland

Switzerland’s Paléo Festival Nyon is introducing a solar farm to help power the annual six-day festival, in a first for outdoor music events in the country.

The solar farm, which covers a 470 square-metre area next to the main festival site, will generate at least half of the festival’s electricity requirements. It is made up of 261 photovoltaic panels, which can collectively generate 100,000 kWh per year.
