The UK live music industry has reacted with disappointment after long-anticipated legislation to combat ticket touting in the UK has been delayed despite previous commitments from the government.

Long-promised action to ban ticket touting was introduced at today’s opening of Parliament in the form of a draft bill, a process typically used for large, complex bills, and which spells a delay to immediate action on the issue. Draft bills are issued for consultation before being formally introduced to Parliament.
