Australian agency apologies over ‘AI artist’ booking

Sydney-based Good Intent was accused of platforming an artist that allegedly uses AI in their music creation and marketing content

An Australian music agency has apologised after artists and fans accused the firm of booking what they described as an “AI artist” for a showcase series.

Sydney-based agency Good Intent came under fire for platforming an artist, called Afro Charles, for the Mixed Bag series at the 125-capacity Bootleggers venue in Newtown earlier this week (1 July).

Following the event, another artist who performed, Aidan Sammut, accused the performer in question of being an “AI artist” who allegedly utilises artificial intelligence…
