AXS halves prices on selected US concerts for anniversary promotion

AXS has opened a 50% off sale on selected concert tickets in the US, valid until 21 August, to celebrate the company’s 15th anniversary.

Beginning yesterday (10 August), the promotion will be processed as a 50% reduction from the original face value of each ticket, excluding applicable fees and taxes, AXS said. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, with the company noting that “availability may vary by event”.

The promotion applies to tickets bought within the stated time period, including shows that occur after the promotion closes.

The offer applies mostly to theatre and amphitheatre concerts across the US, with notable venues hosting qualifying concerts including The Bomb Factory in Dallas and Miami Beach Bandshell. Also among the notable venues to host shows included in the offer are New York’s Pier 17, and there are also sporting events at LA’s Crypto.com Arena.

Acts with shows included in the offer are the likes of Muna, Vince Staples, Derek Hough, Nick Shoulders, and the Zac Brown Band. It is unclear if the offer affects revenue shares with promoters, artists, or venues.

The move to offer discounts to fans in medium-sized venues comes after AXS announced a series of new and renewed partnerships with eight independent performance spaces in the US in early June.

The move saw the firm strike partnerships with West Hollywood’s celebrated Troubadour (500-cap), the seven-venue Marathon Live portfolio, along with an alliance with Minneapolis-based operator First Avenue, among others.

“Independent venues are essential to the live music ecosystem,” AXS’s head of North American venues Dean DeWulf said at the time, adding: “They’re where artists build careers, fans discover new music, and communities come together.”
