Stockholm’s Gasometer reveals lineup to debut ‘boundary-pushing’ new venue

Ahead of opening shows from Jacob Mühlrad and Alexander Wessely, venue bosses say Gasometer will establish "a new benchmark for live entertainment in Europe"

Stockholm’s Gasometer, an upcoming 2,300-cap concert venue, has revealed that composer Jacob Mühlrad and visual artist Alexander Wessely will inaugurate the space when it opens on 17 March next year.

The venue is a conversion of a gasholder built in 1899, with the brick shell preserved around a new pillar-free auditorium. The venue will be run by hospitality and entertainment company Miramis, which is backed by Qarlbo AB, the company also behind PopHouse. The space will fit 1,750 guests…
