Kanye West postpones France concert, adds Poland date

The rapper's return to touring has taken a new twist after the French interior minister reportedly sought to block his show in Marseille

Kanye West has postponed his concert in Marseille, France, following reports that the country’s interior minister was looking to block his performance.

The controversial rapper was due to headline a show at Marseille’s Orange Vélodrome (55,000) on 11 June, but in the past day said that, “After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice.”

The news follows reports that the country’s interior minister, Laurent Nuñez, was moving to stop the concert from taking place. Agence France-Presse reported that Nuñez was “highly determined” to ban the show and was exploring “all possibilities,” according to a source close to the official.
