Vermont to cap ticket resale value from July

The state will become the second in the US to legislate against unrestricted ticket resale

Vermont live industry figures have welcomed the signing into law of a ticket resale cap, which will limit secondary ticket sales to 110% of the value of their original price.

Now signed into law, the bill passed the Vermont House overwhelmingly in April, at which point artist Noah Kahan provided video testimony in its support, and cleared the Senate by a unanimous vote earlier in May. It will take effect on 1 July 2026.
