Wellington venue reopening to mark ‘defining cultural moment’

Pop band Drax Project will lead a special concert lineup to relaunch the town hall, which officials call "the creative heart of the city"

New Zealand’s Te Whare Whakarauika Wellington Town Hall concert venue will reopen on 20 February 2027, announcing a special concert from hometown pop band Drax Project to mark the occasion. The hall has been closed since 2013, when refurbishments began to strengthen its earthquake readiness.
