Electric Avenue eyeing site expansion with growing international profile
The Christchurch event has maxed out its current site, organisers say, but growth has made top-level international artist fees attainable

Electric Avenue festival in New Zealand is exploring long-term site expansion before 2030 to increase capacity to between 60,000-70,000, as organisers say it has reached a footprint which allows it to target top-level international headline acts.
The festival has maximised its footprint within its current area of Christchurch’s Hagley Park, with successive years of attendance growth now meaning the event is looking at other areas of the park to utilise, with an ambition of 2028 or 2029 for the expansion.
