The former deputy leader of the Labour party will succeed Andy Heath as chair of the UK music industry umbrella body

UK Music has appointed former shadow culture secretary Tom Watson as its new chair, replacing outgoing founder and chair Andy Heath. Watson starts in his new role next month. Watson, also a former deputy leader of the Labour party, stood down as a member of parliament at the December 2019 general election.
