Plans for a new multi-use venue in Osaka highlight the rapidly expanding circuit in the domestic-heavy music market

Japan is currently undergoing a flurry of new arena builds, with plans for another multi-use venue emerging in Osaka, as developers aim to capitalise on a booming entertainment market and maximise viability for international tours.

Last week, a trio of Japanese organisations – equipment manufacturer Kubota Corporation, real estate developer Mitsui Fudosan, and Kansai Electric Power Real Estate Development – announced an agreement to consider redeveloping Kubota’s former headquarters into a mixed-use district, anchored by a multi-purpose arena.
