From staging, to logistics, set design, and down to the venues themselves, everything about Take That’s just-launched The Circus Live tour is a “massive job”. So says the band’s manager, Chris Dempsey, as he talks to IQ about the operation behind bringing back the 2009 blockbuster event.
The band has just embarked on a 17-stadium tour that will run until early July in the UK and Ireland, with venues varying in size from Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium (35,000) for opening night on 29 May, to London Stadium’s 80,000 capacity bowl.
Since kicking off, the tour has seen multi-night stays in both Southampton and Coventry, and is set to hit Sunderland’s Stadium of Light tomorrow (9 June). Stops also include Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, and Dublin.
