EDM driving shift in festival visual production techniques, Disguise says

The visual experience firm says festivals are increasingly taking cues from EDM with expanded technical possibilities

A shift towards Ibiza club-style aesthetics is seeing festivals and pop concerts trend towards artist-driven, real time control of lighting and video elements, according to live visual experience company Disguise.

The firm, which has grown to work with “95% of the top 100 grossing artist in the world” on live productions, tells IQ that as visuals at pop concerts and festivals shift to incorporate EDM and club-style elements, so too are visual production operations shifting away from linear or time-coded techniques.
