Irish live events express anger as tickets.ie ceases trading

One festival described the "painful experience" of learning it was owed €135,000 after the DEAG-controlled company was wound up

Irish ticketing company tickets.ie has ceased trading, leaving events at risk of losing hundreds of thousands of euros in ticket revenue as the firm looks to enter liquidation.

Despite backing by major industry player DEAG, the ticketer closed its website on 2 June and replaced it with a message saying it had been wound up. Tickets.ie was the trading name of Oshi Software Ltd., and in its message the company said its directors are currently taking steps to place the company into liquidation.

Simon Power, organiser of Leitrim’s Cowboys and Heroes Festival, said his event is now left owed €135,000 in ticketing revenue from the defunct company.
