Festival news: Los Angeles to host America’s Block Party

Leading the latest festival news round-up, Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum will host a new 4 July centrepiece this year, as America250 unveils America’s Block Party. The Smashing Pumpkins and Chris Stapleton will headline the event, which organisers call a bipartisan day-long celebration of American independence.

Hosted by Queen Latifah, the event forms the flagship of a coast‑to‑coast programme marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, with organisers promising a “once‑in‑a‑generation celebration”.
