Tim Leiweke’s EEP acquires minority stake in Bolton Wanderers FC

The former Oak View Group CEO has invested in the second-tier English club, with team directors welcoming EEP's history in venue development

Tim Leiweke’s Entrepreneur Equity Partners (EEP) has acquired a minority stake in English football club Bolton Wanderers, following the executive’s pardon by US President Donal Trump on bid-rigging charges late last year.

As part of the investment, Leiweke will join the club’s board of directors, alongside existing directors. The move comes after the former Oak View Group (OVG) CEO revealed a similar minority investment in Italian club Venezia in May, worth €100m, as well as an abandoned bid…
