After Congolese artist Fally Ipupa set a record for the largest Francophone concert in UK history, the artist’s representative says French-language music is “finally getting attention” internationally.
After two consecutive nights at The O2 on 24 and 25 October, Rob Hallett, who represented Ipupa for the London dates, says the appetite for Congolese music has reached the point of supporting a run of European festival slots for Ipupa.
“It’s a growing sensation. Francophone music is finally getting attention,” he tells IQ.
