Role Overview
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, creative and commercially minded Marketing Manager to take ownership of marketing across our portfolio of events, helping us reach new audiences, grow ticket sales and strengthen our brands.
This is a varied, hands-on position combining marketing strategy, campaign management, creative production and collaboration across the business.
You’ll be responsible for planning, delivering and continually improving marketing campaigns that drive ticket sales, build engagement and maximise return on investment.
As part of a small team, you’ll need to be equally comfortable developing a marketing strategy, creating social media content, editing a promotional video, analysing campaign performance or getting stuck in on-site at one of our events.
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, commercially aware, full of ideas and, most importantly, has the ability to turn those ideas into results.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Campaigns, Strategy & Performance
- Plan, create and manage integrated marketing campaigns across digital advertising, social media, email, websites, print, outdoor advertising, partnerships and other real-world channels.
- Manage marketing budgets, continually monitoring campaign performance, return on investment (ROI) and return on advertising spend (ROAS).
-
Take a data-led approach, constantly testing, adapting and evolving campaigns to maximise effectiveness and eliminate ineffective spending. Deep understanding of the likes of Meta Ads Manager is important.
-
Closely monitor ticket sales, booking trends, customer behaviour and audience feedback to identify opportunities and refine marketing strategies.
-
Identify new audiences, promotional opportunities and cost-effective ways of reaching potential customers.
-
Balance long-term brand development with the immediate commercial objectives of each event.
-
Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to support the marketing requirements of different departments, including exhibitor, artist bookings and sponsorship opportunities.
PR & Community Engagement
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with influencers, content creators, media outlets, journalists and relevant online communities.
-
Identify opportunities for collaborations, media coverage, partnerships and alternative promotional channels.
-
Create engaging press releases, press packs and promotional materials to generate publicity.
-
Develop relationships with relevant organisations, businesses and community groups to extend our reach.
-
Encourage and foster active online communities around our events, building brand loyalty and encouraging repeat attendance.
-
Identify creative opportunities for organic publicity and audience engagement beyond traditional paid advertising.
Creative Content & Asset Production
-
Confidently create high-quality marketing graphics and promotional assets using Adobe Photoshop, working within established brand guidelines.
-
Use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit promotional videos, social media reels, trailers and other video content.
-
Adapt existing photography, video footage, artist assets and supplied content into effective marketing materials across multiple platforms.
-
Bring fresh creative ideas to campaigns while maintaining consistent and recognisable event brands.
-
Work collaboratively with external graphic designers, photographers and other specialists on larger creative projects, providing clear briefs and direction.
-
Understand the technical requirements and formats needed for different digital, print and advertising platforms.
Event Photography, Video & Content Direction
-
Plan content requirements before events, ensuring photographers, videographers and content creators have clear briefs and objectives.
-
Direct and coordinate content capture during live events to generate engaging material for immediate marketing and future campaigns.
-
Identify key moments, experiences and promotional opportunities that best communicate the atmosphere and appeal of each event.
-
Work with external creatives to ensure content is delivered on time, to the required standard and in usable formats.
-
Be prepared to create and capture content personally when required.
Communication
-
Collaborate with customer service colleagues to understand common customer questions, concerns and feedback.
-
Support the communication of event announcements, programme changes, operational updates and other important information to customers.
-
Coordinate marketing priorities with other team members, ensuring everyone is working towards shared objectives.
Sponsorship Marketing & Activation
-
Work closely with sponsors and commercial partners to understand their marketing objectives and help deliver value from their involvement with our events.
-
Plan and coordinate sponsor campaigns, co-branded content and marketing activities before, during and after events.
-
Support sponsors in developing and promoting their on-site brand activations and customer engagement opportunities.
-
Ensure agreed sponsorship marketing deliverables are fulfilled across relevant channels.
-
Help demonstrate the value of sponsorship through campaign reporting, engagement data and post-event feedback.
Audience Research & Insights
-
Use customer surveys, polls, social media engagement, ticketing data and real-world feedback to develop a clear understanding of our audiences.
-
Identify changing preferences, customer expectations, emerging trends and opportunities to improve our events.
-
Share meaningful insights with colleagues responsible for entertainment programming, artist bookings, activities and the wider event experience.
-
Use research and customer feedback to shape future marketing campaigns and contribute to wider business decisions.
-
Look beyond surface-level statistics to understand what motivates customers to attend, return and recommend our events.
The Person We’re Looking For
We’re a small company producing big events, so attitude and approach are just as important as experience.
You’ll need to be someone who:
Is genuinely hands-on. You’re happy to roll up your sleeves and do what’s needed rather than simply delegate or oversee.
Thinks commercially. You understand that great marketing isn’t just about likes and impressions; it’s about selling tickets, attracting customers and delivering measurable results.
Is creative and practical. You have plenty of ideas but also the technical skills and motivation to bring them to life.
Takes ownership. You spot opportunities, solve problems and make things happen without needing constant direction.
Adapts quickly. You’re comfortable changing direction when the data, circumstances or priorities demand it.
Enjoys working with people. You’re confident building relationships with colleagues, suppliers, creators, sponsors and the public.
Is happy to muck in. Whether that’s preparing a last-minute graphic, helping capture content at a festival or supporting colleagues during a busy event weekend, you understand that teamwork is essential.
