Montreux Jazz Festival vows to ‘push the envelope’

Chief executive Mathieu Jaton discusses the legendary Swiss festival brand's objectives at home and abroad

Ahead of next month’s return of Montreux Jazz Festival (MJF), CEO Mathieu Jaton tells IQ he has already begun mapping out the legendary event’s next chapter as the countdown begins to its 60th anniversary in 2026.

The 59th edition will take place on the Lake Geneva shoreline in Switzerland, with nearly 250,000 attendees expected between 4-19 July. Acts include Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts, Pulp, Sam Fender, Raye, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Brandi Carlile, J Balvin, Ezra Collective, FKA Twigs, Alanis Morissette, Santana, Benson Boone, Bloc Party, The Black Keys and Grace Jones.
