New Zealand promoter Trademark Live tells IQ how they stepped up to save the ska band's tour "overnight" after the festival went bust

Picking up the pieces from Bluesfest’s collapse, New Zealand promoter Trademark Live tells IQ how it jumped headfirst to rescue Sublime’s debut headline run in Australia, despite not having time to fully evaluate the risks.

The American ska legends, comprised of original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh and fronted by Jakob Nowell (son of the late Bradley Nowell), had hinged their five-city AU/NZ tour around the now-defunct Byron Bay Bluesfest, set for 2-5 April.

The established event fell over less than a month before it was due to take place, with a series of Bluesfest Tours-promoted sideshows in the market from artists including Erykah Badu, Buddy Guy, Earth, Wind, & Fire, and others ultimately cancelled.
