New L-Acoustics LiDAR mapping eyes time savings for venues

A new service from L-Acoustics which uses handheld, venue-scale LiDAR scanning to map performance spaces aims to save time and expense for venues during sound design and loudspeaker installation.

The service, known as Digital Construction, makes L-Acoustics the first loudspeaker manufacturer to offer venue-scale LiDAR capture as part of its own sound system design software. The company’s Soundvision software creates 3D acoustic models of performance spaces, and is used by sound consultants, installation teams, and touring engineers.
