The UK government has announced a temporary VAT cut on a number of children’s live entertainment tickets over the coming summer, only days after it claimed a VAT cut on the nationwide voluntary ticket levy would be too complex.

The policy comes as part of the so-called Great British Summer Savings scheme, and is intended to help families over summer school holidays. The temporary cut will apply between 25 June and 1 September.
