Jamaica’s National Stadium eyes concert growth with revamp

A series of renovations will see the Kingston stadium's capacity rise by over 40%, as national authorities vie to boost its offerings

Jamaica’s National Stadium is set to undergo a massive renovation to create a world-class destination for sports, concerts, and major cultural events.

UK-based firms Ryder Architecture and CAA ICON have been tapped for the venue’s redevelopment, commissioned by the Jamaican Government’s Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport (MCGES) and supported by UK Export Finance, under a multi-national cooperation agreement.

The 37,500-seat venue, located in Kingston’s Independence Park, will be expandable to host up to 50,000 people…
