StubHub fined £900,000 by UK regulator over hidden fees

Fine and refunds to 50,000 fans amount to just under £1.5m, but campaigners say hidden fees are only the 'tip of the iceberg'

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has ordered StubHub to refund over 50,000 fans and fined the company for applying hidden transaction fees, amounting to a total of almost £1.5m (€1.74m).

The CMA found that StubHub engaged in the practice known as ‘drip pricing’ between April and December 2025, meaning it did not show fans the total price upfront when purchasing tickets, as required by UK law.
