Fleadh Cheoil 2026 brings in a million fans in ‘record’ year

The 2026 Belfast edition of the Irish traditional music festival made for the "best attended Fleadh ever" across its eight-day span, organisers say

Ireland’s leading traditional music festival, the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, wrapped up its eight-day 2026 edition which welcomed “record footfall”, in its first ever event to be held in Belfast.

The festival, often known as the Fleadh, is held each year in towns and cities across Ireland, and produced by cultural organisation Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in conjunction with government and host cities.
