Norway’s Hove Festival resurrected for 2019

After a five-year hiatus, there will be a major music festival on the island of Tromøy in Arendal next summer, thanks to the new Hove Music Festival

Hove Festival (Hovefestivalen), which ended in 2014 after eight years as one of Norway’s largest and most popular music festivals, will return under new management in 2019.

The new event, Hove Music Festival, is organised by Arendal-based Seaside Production, with support from the municipality of Arendal, which is set to contribute half a million kroner (US$58,335) over the next three years.

According to festival director Marius Berge Amundsen, the CEO of Seaside Production, the company has secured, in addition to financial support, a long-term lease agreement for the festival site at Hove, on the island of Tromøy – the former home of Hovefestivalen – as well as the backing of several of Norway’s leading promoters.
