Promoter Vivo Concerti has hailed the largest concert crowd ever assembled in Italy, as singer-songwriter Ultimo drew 250,000 fans to the University of Tor Vergata in Rome on Saturday (4 July).

The Italian promoter tells IQ the scale of the event called on the company to take on a level of infrastructural and organisational work with local authorities that “nobody in our business has done”, including paying for three of the city’s metro lines to remain open overnight to accommodate fans’ travel.
