What could the future of festival livestreaming look like? Montreux Jazz Festival may have the answer, turning remote audiences from passive viewers into active participants.

After reporting a 324% spike in viewership figures last year, the Swiss institution’s audio-visual arm, Montreux Media Ventures (MMV), trialled a new approach at the festival’s 60th edition as part of a research and development project called IFeL: Immersive Festival Live – Remote Presence at Scale.
