Judge sends Live Nation antitrust case to trial next month

The judge pushed back on portions of the suit, but allowed some claims regarding venues and ticketing to go ahead

Live Nation Entertainment’s antitrust trial will proceed next month after a federal judge on Wednesday (19 February) rejected the company’s overarching bid to dismiss it.

In 2024, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and 40 state attorneys sued Live Nation with claims that the company had a monopoly on the concert promotion and ticketing industry, and engaged in anticompetitive behaviour across the industry. A successful suit could result in the breakup of Live Nation with its ticketing arm, Ticketmaster.
