Summer Breeze Festival: The challenges and advantages of independence in 2026

The Bavarian metal festival says it is on track for its 'fastest ever' sell-out in 2027, just days after wrapping up its 2026 edition

Germany’s Summer Breeze Festival has credited its independent structure with putting it on track for its “fastest ever sell-out” for 2027, while saying rising artist and production costs are making it “more difficult” to for independent events to operate.

This comes only weeks after Summer Breeze’s 2026 edition wrapped up on 15 August, at which it welcomed 50,000 per day to see acts including In Flames, Arch Enemy, and Helloween.
