The cornerstone Rock City venue, located in Nottingham, UK, was started in 1980 by the late George Akins senior, father of current DHP Family boss, George Akins junior.

“I took over in 1994, and from there, we built a music business that expanded into multiple venues, live promoting, festivals, band management, and ticketing,” says Akins. The company currently employs about 400 people, more than 100 of whom are salaried, and 50+ freelancers across four divisions.

They are national promoter for Human League, James Blunt, Kneecap, Parcels, and Fat Freddy’s Drop, as well as a regional promoter for Lewis Capaldi and Sam Fender.

Their festival portfolio includes Bearded Theory (15,000), Splendour (25,000), emerging talent events Dot To Dot, and Beat The Streets, a multi-venue fundraiser showcasing Nottingham’s talent.
