With over 30 years’ experience in producing events from grassroots to large scale concerts, festivals and tours, Serious aim to make meaningful music experiences and opportunities for everyone.
Serious was formed in 1995 by the late John Cumming and the late John Ellson, who had been working together since 1993 to deliver Camden Jazz Week (which eventually became EFG London Jazz Festival). While programming the festival, they were also acting as managers for some of the biggest names in UK jazz.
The immense success and popularity of EFG London Jazz Festival was key to Serious’s growth over the following three decades and this meant being active throughout the year with headline shows, national tours, new commissions, and working with partners to develop largescale events such as the Olympics and working with cultural capitals, London boroughs, and different local authorities.
