Market Report: South Korea

South Korea remains a global music powerhouse driven by K-pop’s immense reach, but there’s controversy afoot.

Key primary ticketers: Interpark, Ticketlink, Yes24 Secondary ticketing situation: In April 2024, the South Korean government put into place new legislation to effectively outlaw the use of bots to buy tickets.

Scalpers now face up to one year in prison or a 10m won fine for breaking the law.

Taxes & charges: VAT: 10%; commission rate is usually around 5.5%; withholding tax: 22%.
