Arena Market: Bahrain
Bahrain is a remarkable market – fairly small in absolute terms, on a 30-mile-long island, but prosperous and mature in its appetite for entertainment, fed in part by young Saudis lured across the 25km King Fahd Causeway by legally available alcohol and cosmopolitan nightlife.
Bahrain also has an increasingly strong line in modern venues and pockets deep enough to programme them with international talent.
A project to establish the nation as a global entertainment hub began in 2021 with the opening of the 10,000-cap Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, carved 15 metres into the rock of the Sakhir desert and adjoining the Bahrain International Circuit that hosts the Formula 1.
