Country Profile: Indonesia

While a number of famous names have been dotted across 2025 lineups in Indonesia, local promoters are reporting changes in market conditions that are creating a level of uncertainty for event planners.

“Current economic conditions regionally and globally are having an impact that’s bringing the buying power of the market down,” explains Donny Heru of Nyawa Live Asia, who also co-founded the three-day summer spectacle LaLaLa Fest.

“This year, we can see that 7 out of 10 shows in Indonesia are either losing money, or tickets aren’t selling very well.”

This sentiment is echoed by Pujangga Rahseta of Double Deer. “Rising production costs are making it increasingly difficult to stage live concerts, let alone largescale festivals; increasing artist fees make booking a headliner – or multiple headliners – financially challenging; and even prominent local festivals known for booking almost entirely local lineups are struggling to secure funding.”
