Global Promoters Report 2025

Country Profile: Rwanda

Rwanda continues to use culture and live entertainment as instruments of renewal, positioning Kigali as both a symbol of resilience and a staging ground for Africa’s future.

Last year’s story revolved around the government-backed infrastructure drive led by QA Venue Solutions at BK Arena and Amahoro Stadium. This year, the spotlight shifts to the independent promoter class, the entrepreneurs who seeded the market long before world-class arenas existed.

Joseph Mushyoma, founder of East African Promoters, has spent the past 15 years bringing international acts to Rwanda and creating platforms for local artists to make a living. “I started when Serena [banquet hall] was the only big venue we had,” he recalls. “I’ve brought Sean Kingston, Jason Derulo, Ne-Yo, even Konshens into Rwanda. I was also the first to bring Diamond Platnumz to Rwanda, when he was just starting out. More recently, I’ve brought Joeboy, Omah Lay, and other Nigerian stars.”
