While grouped together geographically, the Balkan markets differ sharply in terms of economies, live infrastructure, and international touring activity. As befits such a diverse region, there are many promoters here, including Honeycomb Live, which operates across markets.
Like many places, post-Covid, the touring markets in this part of Europe saw an immediate sprint to make up for lost time, but that momentum has dwindled. “After the market fully opened after Covid, we had a very busy 2023 and 2024, with tons of shows coming through.
2025 saw some 30% less shows, especially on the international side,” says Mario Grdosic from Croatia’s multifaceted LAA, which has promoted two nights of Queens of the Stone Age, plus Gojira, Faithless, Skunk Anansie, Godsmack, SatchVai, Hermanos Gutiérrez, and many others in 2025. “Costs are up, so are fees, but then again, our ticket prices are also up massively compared to five or six years ago, so I would say that evens things up at the moment.”
