The Polish live business is in good shape at the moment, with an increasing number of international acts playing there, coupled with an explosion of local acts across a variety of genres. As in most markets, the top tier does very well, but lower tier acts have a bit of a fight on their hands.
“In general, the touring conditions in Poland are very strong – but, as much as in the rest of Europe, it depends on the size of the artist,” says Tomasz Ochab of Knock Out Productions and Mystic Festival.
“All stadium and most arena shows have great attendances, but smaller shows struggle. Poland has great economic momentum, and many agents see this. We’ve never ever had as many international shows happening in Poland [as we do] now.”
There are a great number of local promoters active in Poland, with Ochab reporting that there are over 50 in SOIAR, the Polish promoters’ association. “The biggest national promoters are Alter Art, Prestige MJM, Winiary Bookings, Good Taste, DM Agency, and OFF Festival,” he explains. “But we also have…
