The Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania share borders and cultural ties, but each market has developed its own distinct live entertainment landscape. For international tours, this means there is no single approach – local nuances shape everything, from ticketing and taxation to audience preferences and artist fees.
“Although we live close to each other, each of our countries often has different preferences when it comes to popular music genres,” explains Gints Putnins of L Tips Agency in Latvia.
“I’d say that in Estonia, rock is more popular; in Lithuania, alternative and pop music; while Latvia is somewhere in between.”
Taxation also varies widely. “For example, in Lithuania, you need to pay 9%. In Estonia, it’s, like, 24%, and in Latvia, it’s 0,” says Tanya Korenik of Estonia-based UCE Agency. Artist fees differ, too. “A genre like post-punk could work easily in Lithuania but might not have as much demand in Estonia,” she adds. “So, if a band wanted to cover all three countries, they need to take into consideration that the…
