Arena Market: Colombia

As Colombia revels in its prominence as both a talent generator and a hungry live market, Bogotá’s Movistar Arena, operated by the CLK Group and renovated in 2018, represents a vital northern stop for the tours that criss-cross the continent and beyond.

“Arena shows are booming right now,” says Luigi Quintero, general manager of the arena. “By the end of the year, we will have had more or less 130, 140 shows. Last year, we did 98. So it’s pretty busy almost every weekend.

It is also starting to get busier on weekdays, since tours are coming from the south, from Chile, from Brazil, and going up to Mexico. They need any day they can get, even if it’s a Monday, a Tuesday, or a Wednesday.”

With a scalable capacity of around 14,000, the Movistar Arena lays claim to 71% of the shows that take place in the Colombian capital and is routinely recognised as one of the busiest in the world.
