Arena Market: Taiwan
These are tense times in Taiwan, amid Chinese annexation threats and domestic political turmoil, though for now, it remains a fragile democratic outpost, just 180km across the Taiwan Strait from its vast neighbour.
Taiwan isn’t a touring magnet in the vein of Singapore or Tokyo but nor is it a stranger to big international shows – Coldplay was in Kaohsiung City for two shows in late 2023, selling out in record time.
The Taipei Arena is typically the go-to venue for major acts stopping in Taiwan. The venue, in the capital’s Songshan District, was completed in July 2005 and has a seating capacity of up to 15,350 for concerts in the round, 13,500 for remote-stage concerts, and 11,000 for far-end stage arrangements.
