Arena Market: Sweden
Alongside the UK and the US, Sweden has been one of the most significant global exporters of music over the past half century – and it has also grown to be one of Europe’s most important tech sectors.
Tax rates may be high, but the country has comparatively low income inequality. It also has strong government support for the arts, particularly music, and most people in the country learn an instrument at school.
As such, music is highly valued and that carries over into the live sector.
“Sweden’s live business in 2025 is very healthy, with a strong concert year for stadiums, arenas, and club shows,” says Tobias Ekman, general manager of the 16,500-cap Avicii Arena and the 40,000-cap 3Arena. “We’re expecting a high volume of content, with double-digit sold-out shows in our venues in Sweden.”
