Arena Market: Switzerland
Philipp Musshafen, CEO of the 15,500-cap Hallenstadion in Zürich, recently told IQ that average ticket prices in Switzerland “are significantly higher than in most European countries” but “overall expenditure remains relatively consistent.”
The power of the market has definitely carried over into 2025. “This year looks to be a very good year,” he says. “Many great artists and exciting formats are coming to Zürich. We hope that all events will also generate a high number of visitors, which is currently looking very good.
The Swiss people love live events and are willing to pay high ticket prices for their favourites.”
Acts booked this year at Hallenstadion, where music makes up 60% of all bookings, include Gracie Abrams, Teddy Swims, Sabrina Carpenter, Santana, Iron Maiden, Lionel Richie, and Tyler, the Creator. Almost all the business here is international acts, with Musshafen estimating that local acts make up a mere 2% of their bookings.
