ituated in an old steelworks in Esch-sur-Alzette, the scalable 6,500-cap Rockhal has maintained steady ticket sales with 260,000 changing hands in the last year.
CEO Olivier Toth says: “It’s been at 250,000 since 2018 and stayed there with the exception of the pandemic. [The venue] averages around 200 events per year, which [again] has been constant since 2018.
We’re unsure how much we can push this up, but this is already very busy.”
The last year has been “prosperous” for Rockhal, with 58% of visitors crossing the border from France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and with 12% of those traveling more than 100km. This has helped the venue’s programme stay “very diverse,” says Toth, adding that its capacity flexibility helps them to “find the best setting for every show.” Slash, Alice Cooper, and Dream Theater have all performed there in the last year.
