Arena Market: Türkiye
The Turkish market has been steadily growing in importance in recent years, but political events in the country could (temporarily) cause this to wobble.
For example, in April, Muse postponed their June show in the city after the head of promoter DBL Entertainment criticised anti-government protesters. The band said they would reschedule the show for 2026 – but with a different promoter.
Esra Tezel, venue director of the 6,500-cap Volkswagen Arena in Istanbul, reports that the live sector there is currently proving to be robust. While bookings at the arena are split pretty much equally between domestic and international artists, Türkiye is not yet a priority market for many of the global superstars of live.
The venue does still draw in international names such as French singer Mireille Mathieu, Swiss ballet company Béjart Ballet, Spanish singer Buika, Belgian-Canadian singer Lara Fabian, Faroese-Icelandic techno duo Kiasmos, Russian- Austrian opera singer Anna…
