Arena Market: Norway
Norway has one of the most affluent populations in Europe but has been cut off for a number of major tour routes. The international acts that do play there can drive phenomenal ticket sales, yet arenas in the country feel that it is being overlooked despite the fact it is brimming with potential.
Kjetil Bell Tveit, CEO of the 25,000-cap Unity Arena (formerly the Telenor Arena) on the edge of Oslo, says 2025 has been a boom year for the venue, with double the number of shows booked in compared to each previous year since its opening in 2009.
“It is noticeable that the costs of production and touring are pushing the profitability of both the artist and the promoter,” he says. “Unfortunately, this may lead to Norway being excluded from the tour in some cases.”
Even so, 90% of the bookings at the venue are of international acts, showing there is faith in the market, although that faith could still be greater.
